About
Hi, nice to meet you! I am Stef, a software engineer interested in building creative, challenging and scalable software. Currently living in Oisterwijk with my partner and one-year-old son, enjoying and surviving the toddler times.
With ten years of experience under my belt, I am transitioning from early career stage to a more seasoned professional.
From late Q1 2026, I am working as lead front-end developer at Sligro, where I’ll be bringing my expertise in the web, TypeScript and React to a large-scale Dutch retail organisation.
Before my current gig, I have worked exclusively for agencies, which I always experienced as demanding, but rewarding environments. Before my current role at Sligro, I was:
- Tech Lead at OWOW, where my role was a hybrid of lead developer and staff engineer — leading a team of developers and maintaining Atlas, OWOW’s in-house universal template project for headless Shopify/e-commerce and large-scale websites.
- Front-end developer at Stijlbreuk, a digital agency that specializes in platforms and applications for (mental) health and education. I primarily worked on Vue projects, transitioning from v2 to v3 and the composition API. Additionally, I worked on some React apps, and did some build-tool-related modernization efforts in a WordPress template repository.
- Creative/gamification developer at Hulan, a video game agency, focusing on serious games and gamification. I worked on a variety of projects, from small-scale gamification apps to large-scale serious games. I did some light C#/Unity, Swift and Kotlin development, but mostly worked React for web.
In my personal time, I’m exploring new tech, do occasional reading and rekindled my interest in casually playing video games. Additionally, I work on various side projects that keep me creatively engaged!
